The game

Joy · Funny · Scheming

This is a fun party game designed by strategy gamers. The blind-draw mechanism fills the game with randomness and keeps the whole table loud, but the character cards underneath it are doing real work.

Every character card carries a different skill, so no two players are solving the same problem — and the well-designed team mode doubles the joy at higher player counts.

Three to six players, fifteen to twenty minutes, ages eight and up. Short enough to play four times in a row, and mean enough that you will want to.

Blind draw

The draw mechanism keeps the game genuinely unpredictable — nobody is ever safely ahead.

Asymmetric characters

Each character card grants a different skill, so every seat plays differently.

Team mode

A designed-in team variant that scales the chaos up instead of watering it down.

Fifteen minutes

Short enough for the end of an evening, light enough for eight-year-olds, sharp enough for the strategy shelf.

Where it comes from

A crow, a pitcher, and some pebbles

The name comes straight out of Aesop. In 'The Crow and the Pitcher' a thirsty crow raises the water level by dropping in pebbles one at a time — patience and leverage rather than force. The game keeps the pebble-by-pebble scheming and adds five more crows to get in the way.

While far-from a household name, the developers have previously created Crow Drinks Water, a party strategy title which wowed backers and once again broke its own targets.
